Ronald Hernandez, DC, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Finance and Management from the University of Illinois at Chicago in 2002.  In 2004, he obtained his certification as a personal trainer from the National Council of Strength and Fitness (NCSF).  He then completed his doctorate degree in chiropractic medicine, graduating Magna Cum Laude, from National University of Health Sciences.  Throughout his extensive residency he worked alongside high school, college, and professional athletes, where he focused on sports medicine, physical therapy, and functional rehabilitation.

Although Dr. Ron is a sports medicine doctor at heart, he also takes interest in physical therapy, functional rehabilitation, performance therapy, nutritional counseling, internal disorders, blood disorders, and acupuncture.  He is a Double Board Certified Specialitist as a Diplomate with the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians (DACBSP), a Diplomate with the American Chiropractic Rehabilitation Board (ACRB), Certified Concussion Specialist, Certified Sports Physician (CCSP), Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), Acupuncture Certification, Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization Certification, and Certified Kinesio Taping Practitioner (CKTP).

Dr. Ron is also a certified member of the

Dr. Ron’s love for sports medicine began as a small child, swimming and playing water polo competitively for Portage Park in the Chicago Park District in grammar school and high school.  Throughout his childhood, he has won numerous state and city championships, set pool and meet records, as well as having held 20 of 22 St. Patrick High School swimming records.  He has had multiple All-State nominations, and has since been inducted into the St. Patrick’s HS Hall of Fame in Chicago, in 2003 and 2005.

Dr. Ron’s outgoing personality along with collaborative management with the patient, is what seems to attract his patients.  All of his patients comment on how his combination of listening skills, diagnosis, and treatment plans are the most thorough and active they have ever experienced.  Dr. Ron takes pride in using common terminology focused for the patient during each exam, because he recognizes that the patient must take ownership in their health, even if he is only providing them with the tools to work with.  In addition, he personally completes follow-up phone calls to patients on a regular basis and appreciates new patient referrals.
